⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I would very much appreciate a review and some stars on Amazon.
'Clasped' is my third spicy Regency mail-order bride romance set in Devon. Lily and Freddie were such fun to write. Freddie is a gentle giant who has fallen into full-time farming somewhat reluctantly due to the loss of his parents. He will only grow to love it with the right woman at his side – cue Lily, a feisty heroine who fights hard for what she wants, and that's a future as a farmer's wife.
As usual, I fell down a rabbit hole researching various aspects of Regency history. This time, looked into butcher's shops, graphology, and the farming calendar, particularly focusing October, hence the autumnal cover image. You'll find my 'historical notes' at the back of each book.
This is a tender, low-spice love story with one mainstream, vanilla bedroom scene. The rating is 2/5 🌶️🌶️ as with all my 'spicies', see 'Warning' below for a fuller explanation.

The Story
A spicy Regency mail-order bride historical romance set in Devon.
Lily Finch lives a gruelling life, trapped with a bullying father and working in his London butcher’s shop. Eternally optimistic, she holds on to one cherished dream, to escape the city and become a farmer’s wife. One day, she takes a leap of faith by responding to a matrimonial advertisement placed by Freddie Southwell, a Devonshire farmer, even though he is reputedly an intimidating man who has already put off three prospective brides. Arriving in Devon, she quickly falls for Freddie’s obvious charms, and despite her initial concerns about his behaviour, she commits to their marriage of convenience. As she knuckles down to work on the farm, will Freddie step up to become the man she needs, and will their attraction blossom into the love and security she craves?
Warning
This book is part of a series of spicy stand-alone short reads set in Regency times. In my spicy stories, there are generally one or two kissing scenes and one open-door sex scene. These scenes are passionate and intimate, but the sex is mainstream and ‘vanilla’, with full consent. There is no swearing stronger than a ‘damn’ in any of my books, and the sexual terminology is mild or euphemistic.
This story has some scenes of butchery in the Regency period which may be triggering for vegetarians and vegans.
