A detour to find property in South Devon and the surrounding areas, from £250k to £325k.

As you may know, I'm fond of an occasional diversion. It stops me from getting too overwhelmed by my daily trawls along the canals. I think the last detour was my cemetery lodges post. This week I have been looking at South Devon as an option for our future retirement. It's not a random choice - it's where my sister and her family live. True to my usual form, I did some thorough research to identify my favourites amongst the many small, peaceful villages within an hour of my sister's home. Needless to say, many of them were well out of my price range!

Thankfully, I did find a number of possible contenders - and even some chocolate box cottages - which we'd be viewing if we were planning to move in the near future. That being said, I was left feeling that it's very difficult to beat what we have right here by Glascote Locks, and despite the obvious appeal of Devon, we're not going anywhere just yet.

Knowing that many of my readers dream of coast and countryside almost as much as they dream of canals, I thought I'd share some of my findings with you. Don't worry! I'm not planning to bombard you with Devon posts!
